Stacking the Shelves: My big book haul!

Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts…

This has been a really busy week because I had to travel for work (not to mention I’m still stuck at the airport) BUT I still found time to purchase a few e-books that I can’t wait to read!!!  Some of these have come highly recommended from book blogs I’ve recently discovered! ;)

Now, the challenge will be finding the time to read all of them.  GAH!!! And you know what else…I see audio-books in my future because I’ve been spending a lot of time on the road, as in driving in unfamiliar terroritories.   :/

What’s in your book haul??

  1. says

Oooo nice haul :P I hope I managed to give you some inspirations, eh? *wink* Cruel Beauty is on my to-buy list too! I head so many good things about it. I’m kind of curious about audio books, but they are so expensive. I looked into Amazon’s audible programs before but felt like it’s not worth the amount of money I would be paying. Plus, the enjoyment would be highly dependent on the narrator, so sometimes it may even make a good book insufferable.

Hi Angel…I don’t doubt that I will be getting quite a few recommendations from you!!! :) I love my book haul this week and I seem to have a weekly one-clicking problem! LOL!!! I’m not completely sold on the audiobooks because they are expensive but I’m definitely considering it! Thanks for stopping by!

PS: I’ve been dying to read Cruel Beauty and I can’t wait! ♥

I really liked Shadow and Bone, but I still haven’t gotten a chance to read the second book. Looking For Alaska and Every Day are on my TBR list as well – I’m hoping to read them by the end of the summer. :) Great haul! Enjoy your books and have a great weekend!

  3. says

Awesome haul! I really need to read Shadow & Bone. I’ve had Every Day for what seems like forever, but I just haven’t read that one yet either. Geez, I need to get on this already!! :) Enjoy your goodies this week!

    • Cristina says

Hi Lisa!!! I really can’t wait to read Shadow and Bone, I’ve been told it’s fantastic!!! Thanks for stopping by! ☺️

    • Cristina says

Ashfall has been on my radar for quite sometime but a fellow blogger loved and I couldn’t help but buy it! Lol! Thanks for stopping by Mary. ☺️

Your GIF makes me smile :) Also- Looking for Alaska I read as a teenager and it is one of my all time favorite books. It has stayed with me for many years. I found at a used book store an ARC copy of it and it’s slightly falling apart and highlighted (with a real highlighter) and one of my most prized possessions.

So that’s my John Green fangirl moment. Good luck with all the traveling and getting reading time in!

    • Cristina says

I love fangirl moments Caitlin and I really can’t wait to reading Looking for Alaska. My tissues are ready! LOL! And PS: searching for gifs has become a all new favorite hobby! lol ;)

Hey, hey! I know that weirdly creepy cover! And man, if you’re up for it, there could be some buddy reads in our future. I’ve had Mind Games, Every Day, and Ashfall on my TBR for-frickin’-ever. Cruel Beauty is also a more recent addition.

Great haul, Cristina! And sorry about all the driving to unfamiliar places :(

I’m slogging through arcs (and Days of Blood and Starlight–EEP!), so really, whenever you’re ready to pick one of them up, let me know, and if I can fit it in right then, I will. That being said, I’m most likely to drop other things for Cruel Beauty, but it’ll have to wait for like a week.

And are we still on for Dreams of Gods and Monsters Tuesday?!

        • Cristina says

Oh………I totally want to start Cruel Beauty! Once you are free let me know and we’ll dive in! ;) Waiting a week is not a problem! And Dreams of Gods and Monsters will be out on 4/8, I’m thinking we should read it after that book. Sound good?? #cantwaitformoreakiva

Bookgasm cover for Tug of War! And I see you got Ashfall, fantastic! I’ve read Looking for Alaska, but didn’t blew me away, but it was a good enough read for me. I used to listen to audiobooks a lot, but with the kind of work I do, I couldn’t do it, it interferes with my critical thinking. Have an awesome weekend, Cristina!

    • Cristina says

I think it’s a stunning cover as well and I only hope the story lives up to the cover!! ;) I feel that I can’t go wrong with a John Green book, right? And I’m still very much on the fence with audiobooks…those bad boys are PRICEY!

  7. says

OMG so many awesome reads for you! I know what you mean about travelling for work, it’s so tiring! hope you’re home now. I have Looking for Alaska and Mind Games on my TBR list, haven’t gotten around to them though! I think you’ll love Cruel Beauty and have heard awesome things about Shadow & Bone and Ashfall. enjoy all of your reads Cristina!

    • Cristina says

I kinda went hog wild on amazon but I’m thinking these books should definitely last me for a bit! ;) I’m really excited to read Cruel Beauty but truthfully I think they will all be awesome! *fingers crossed* :)

  8. says

Great haul! I bought the first two Ashfall books and requested the third because of all the wonderful reviews I’d seen and the amount of people who recommended it. I have to say though, I kind of feel like the only person who didn’t enjoy it. I was bored for quite a lot of it, far too much talk of skiing & Taekwondo. I am very excited to get to Shadow & Bone though, I am really hoping I love that one. I hope you enjoy your books and thanks for stopping by my haul :)

  9. says

Definitely try out audiobooks! I’ve only recently started on listening myself but I love the fact that I can still get lost in a book even while walking or sitting in a car/bus. If you like Paranormal romance I suggest you try out Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series on audio! The narrator is amazing! Great haul Christina and I hope you get to squeeze these books in your busy working schedule :)

    • Cristina says

I’ve been on the fence about them but with all the traveling I’m doing…I will give it a try. And I keep hearing a ton about Kresley Cole’s books! ♥

    • Cristina says

I’ve heard mixed things about Every Day but I figured I should give it a try. People compare the author to John Green, so who knows. *fingers crossed* And I’m dying to read Shadow and Bone considering everyone I talks to loves it!! :)

    • Cristina says

Hi Carmel!!! I’m definitely trying them out for sure and I can’t wait. Right now, I need something to take my mind off of flight delays and what a better way, than with an audiobook! ;)

    • Cristina says

I really can’t wait to read it because it’s the one I am most excited about! ♥ This pile should keep me busy for a while! LOL ;)

  10. says

I believe I’ve only read Cruel Beauty out of your haul, and I think you’re in for a very nice and pleasant surprise :D Oops, there’s Ashfall, too, and I remember it being decent (I think I gave it three stars? But then when it comes to post-apocalyptic stuff I can be very nitpicky :P). The rest, I’ve yet to read them, although I really need to read Siege and Storm ASAP! Great heal dearie!

Everyone keeps telling me that I will truly enjoy Cruel Beauty and I’m chompin’ at the bit to start it but it might have to wait a few days as The Dreams of Gods and Monsters (#3) by Laini Taylor released today! Woo-hoo! ;) Thanks for stopping by Faye! ♥

  11. says

Shadow & Bone, mindgames, everyday and looking for Alaska are all terrific books and I just can’t believe it’s only taken for you to NOW have them in your home! You are crazy lady! But i guess it’s true what they say “later is better than never!” P.S love your BIG haul!

I know…I can’t believe it’s taken me this long too! LOL!! But they are all safely stored on my kindle app and I can’t wait to get started. Thanks for stopping by! :)
